Mute your mic and push-to-talk from your phone
It's the same app that runs your scenes and mixes every app's audio — muting your mic is just one tap of it.
To mute your mic from your phone while streaming, pair the SIDeck app with its desktop host and assign a push-to-mute or push-to-talk control to your microphone. One tap mutes or unmutes your mic, and the same mixer rides your game, Discord and music. This is streaming push-to-talk — not the cellular walkie-talkie kind.
Mute your mic from your phone
Pair the SIDeck app with the desktop host
Install SIDeck Studio on your Windows or Mac, open the app on your iPhone or iPad, and scan the QR code. Both are on the same Wi-Fi — there's no port forwarding to set up.
Open the audio mixer
Your apps and your mic appear as channels in the mixer. The global Mic/Aux is resolved for you, so your microphone shows up ready to control.
Tap to mute your mic
Tap your mic channel to mute it — one tap mutes or unmutes it instantly, so you can kill the mic the moment you need to.
Hold for push-to-talk or push-to-mute
Assign a hold control so your mic opens only while you hold it (push-to-talk), or mutes only while you hold it (push-to-mute) — whichever fits how you stream.
Push-to-talk vs push-to-mute
Push-to-talk keeps your mic muted by default and opens it only while you hold the control — great for noisy rooms where you only want to be heard on purpose. Push-to-mute is the opposite: your mic stays live and only mutes while you hold the control — perfect for a quick cough, sip or side conversation without dropping out of the stream.
Both are supported from the phone. You assign whichever control you want to your mic channel, and SIDeck holds the mic open or muted for exactly as long as your finger is down.
This is streaming push-to-talk — not the cellular kind
If you searched for "push to talk from phone," you may have hit walkie-talkie and cellular two-way-radio apps that turn your phone into a radio to talk to other people. That is not what this is.
SIDeck's push-to-talk and push-to-mute control your microphone for OBS and streaming on your computer. Your phone is the remote; the mic, the mixer and OBS all live on your desktop host. Nothing here turns your phone into a radio — it just gives you a button to open or mute the mic your stream already uses.
Frequently asked questions
Can I mute my mic from my phone while streaming?+
Yes. Pair the SIDeck app with its desktop host, open the audio mixer and assign a mute or push-to-mute control to your microphone. One tap on your phone mutes or unmutes your mic on your computer instantly.
What's the difference between push-to-talk and push-to-mute?+
With push-to-talk your mic is muted until you hold the control, so you're only heard while holding it. With push-to-mute your mic is live until you hold the control, so it mutes only while held. SIDeck supports both from the phone.
Does this mute my mic everywhere or just in OBS?+
It controls the mic channel on your desktop host, resolving your global Mic/Aux. So muting acts on the microphone your computer is using for the stream and your per-app mix — not a separate, OBS-only toggle.
Do I need any hardware?+
No. There's no deck or box to buy. Your iPhone or iPad is the controller and the SIDeck desktop host runs on your Windows or Mac, so muting and push-to-talk work with the gear you already have.
